The Gujarat maritime Board has allotted
M/S PRIYA BLUE INDUSTRIES PVT. LTD,
one of the biggest plot (Plot No.V-1)
at Sosiya Ship-breaking Yard (An extension
of Alang Ship Breaking Yard) in the
state of Gujarat. Mr. Sanjay Mehta
(Managing Director) incorporated this
company M/s Priya Blue industries
Pvt. Ltd., in the year 1994. It has
an industrial Oxygen gas plant to
support its need. He is one of the
first ship-breaker who has induced
the idea of back yard cutting to facilitate
speedy and safe turnover. Mr. Sanjay
Mehta is a major ship-breaker member
of Saurashtra Chamber of Commerce
and Industries, Senior Vice President
of Gujarat Ship-breakers Association.
The company has carried out the activities
of ship-breaking from 1994 till date.
They have broken 16 ships (Total tonnage
about 4,30,000 tons) so far including.
The biggest ship M/V Sovereign of
lightweight 50,500 Long tons. This
vessel was also cut in record time
of 4 months. Mr. Sanjay Mehta has
a keen interest in developing greenery
all round his plot and has developed
excellent garden and orchards in his
back yard.
He has also developed labor colony
for his workers in the back yard with
all the amenities.

"In year 1994, Mr. Sanjay Mehta ( Managing
Director ) incorporated a company, PRIYA BLUE
INDUSTRIES PVT. LTD. The company has been
allotted one of the biggest plot ( Ship Breaking
Plot ) in Sosiya - an extension of Alang in
the state of Gujarat. It also has an Industrial
Oxygen Gas Plant to support its needs. In
fact as a foresight they acquired a huge piece
of land behind their yard and pioneered the
idea of back yard cutting and gave a concept
of disciplined industry to the ship breaking
activity. At present, the company is not only
a major ship breaker but also the leader in
this business in India. It has carried out
the activity of ship breaking and has broken
16 ship ( total tonnage about 430000 tons
) in the past 6 years including the biggest
ship of Light Weight 50'500 Long Ton in a
record time of four months. The company has
also built a labor colony in the land opposite
to the breaking yard for the welfare of the
Labour - Staff. Also I found the company to
be one of the most co-operative and law abiding.
